You must print the article BACK to BACK,
i.e. on BOTH sides, when you submit it.
You must write a 2000 word Feature Article
suitable for a global industry magazine.
A feature article appears in a newspaper or
magazine. They are detailed pieces of writing which explore a range of issues,
opinions, experiences and ideas.
The purpose of a feature article will vary
depending on the media it is meant for. Feature articles should appeal to the
particular audience the article is targeting.
For example if a magazine was targeted at
middle aged women, then the articles, advertising and pictures within that
magazine would reflect their interest in lifestyle, career, money, health and
relationships.
Your feature article must appeal to a
specified target audience from ONE of the following EAGLE (emerging and growth
leading economies) countries:
1. China
2. Russia
4. South Korea
5. Indonesia
6. Mexico
This means that you as the WRITER should
write as though YOU are ALSO from this country.
You must not choose the country where you
are from. Also, try not to write about the same country you based your Seminar
paper on.
The article must be ONLY about the positive
implications of globalisation on any hospitality or tourism issue based in your
chosen country. You must clearly define, analyse and argue these globalisation
implications.
You need to be informative, entertaining
and persuasive using this ONE perspective. The tone of the article should
reflect the attitude of the writer. You
may use the SECOND person but do not use the FIRST person!
This is a RESEARCH assessment so your
article should reflect evidence of credible, reliable data.
You must use in text referencing and a
references list. Make use of newspapers,
industry magazines, journals as well as any other sources from expert
opinions.
You should use mainly secondary PREDICTIVE
and ANALYTICAL research as a basis for your article. Research should NOT be older than 2008.
It is recommended that you make use of one
PRIMARY research method in the form of an eyewitness account/s to support your
secondary research: e.g. an interview.
